Minutes from the Midsummer Metric Meeting

The Midsummer Metric Meeting convened under ordinary light. Attendance was sufficient. The Circuit-Wasserstein ball was present as an agenda item; Big Wasserstein was mentioned only in abstentia and asked not to send a representative.

Motions recorded

Motion 1. To affirm that public write-ups of $\mathsf{CW}_p$ and PeTeR-style robustification remain the community’s primary voice.
Passed without objection. One member muttered “unlike certain labs,” which the chair declined to enter into the record and then immediately entered into the record.

Motion 2. To discourage diagrams that label every ellipse “Wasserstein” without specifying Circuit versus Big—i.e., $\mathsf{CW}$ versus $\mathsf{W}$.
Passed. The member who had brought the dry-erase markers abstained.

Motion 3. To form a temporary reading group on differentiable Circuit-Wasserstein gradients $\nabla \mathsf{CW}$ for descent–ascent post-training.
Passed. The group requested more time and less OpenCW discourse in the group chat.

Unfinished business

Snacks were raised, tabled, raised again, and escorted from the room. Nutrition is important. It is not currently a metric on compatible circuits.

Closing note

The meeting adjourned after a reminder that upper bounds are still bounds ($\mathsf{CW}_p \ge \mathsf{W}_p$), and that closed Circuit-Wasserstein research conducted under open branding remains a topic for a later, colder issue.
